Enamel Vessel Pentad

Tom Dixon

A group of table accessories inspired by the desire to add vibrancy to the collection. The enamel vessels are glazed in vitreous enamel, a finish typically associated with science labs and cooking equipment. The result is an indestructible surface with an extraordinary depth of colour.

Sand cast iron product with a high gloss enamel nish, underside matt black. The enameling process involves spraying particles of glass powder mixed with colour pigments onto cast iron, which is then red at a ercely high temperature for a hard – wearing nish. The manufacturing technique is exposed through the slightly uneven surface and delicate graduation of colour.
